Jacqui Galle has been taking photographs since her Grandma gave her a pink plastic Le Click camera for Christmas when she was seven years old. She studied photography at Columbia College in Chicago receiving her BFA in Photography with a concentration in Commercial Photography in 2003. She has worked as both photographer and assistant at numerous studios in Chicago and San Francisco working with clients such as Apple, Gumps, North Face, Dolby Digital Sound, Home Depot, and Target.
Jacqui concentrates on the fundamentals of design when photographing and practices redefining simplicity. But more than incorporating symmetry, balance and repetition into her work, she makes these fundamentals the main subjects of her photographs. Her current project involves shooting taxidermy as décor in home interiors across the country. She finds great satisfaction in examining how a room defines an individual, and in the taxidermy project endeavors to bring about a sense of surprise, surrealism and beauty.
Jacqui lives in San Francisco and is available for work in California, Oregon and other areas upon request.
